SUMMARY:Rigging & Signaling for Cranes
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is designed to be a component of an employer's internal basic rigging and signaling training program by providing the required core classroom training\, written knowledge verification quizzes\, and fundamental hands-on workshop rigging scenarios to assist employers in meeting federal and/or state OSHA regulations requiring a Qualified Rigger\, Signalperson or Spotter. Attend as either: A) Employer's trainer/evaluator B) Trainer/evaluator Refresher C) End User D) End User Refresher Students successfully completing the program will receive copies of all testing and evaluation documentation and a proof of training ID card. Workshop Details Length: 6-8 Hours Topics: Risk management\, safety and hazards when working around cranes\, developing rigging plans\, the use and inspection criteria for master links\, shackles\, eyebolts\, lifting eyes\, wire rope/chain/synthetic web/synthetic round slings\, calculating horizontal sling angle stress\, sling hitches\, using spreader bars and equalizer beams\, calculating load weight\, center of gravity and leg loads. Additionally\, the Signaling/Spotting portion of this course covers the requirements for a Qualified Signal Person\, power line clearances and safety\, proper positioning\, craning hazards\, hand and verbal signaling for mobile/tower/overhead cranes\, meanings\, actions and potential hazards the signals may cause.
