Join us to celebrate Walt's retirement! 

After more than twenty-five years of dedicated service to ACI and more than sixty years in the construction industry, we are proud to recognize and celebrate the retirement of Walt Haneke, Senior Estimator and Project Manager.

Walt’s impact on ACI reaches every corner of the company. Over the years he has served as Project Manager, Estimator, Vice President, President, and most recently Senior Estimator and Project Manager. In each role he brought steady leadership, sharp expertise, and a customer first mindset that shaped how we work and how we show up for the people we serve.

Walt grew up in construction, learning the trade through hard work alongside his father. That early start fueled a career built on grit, determination, and a work ethic that never wavered. He became a trusted partner to clients, a mentor to colleagues, and a respected presence throughout the industry. His advocacy for the construction profession has been strong and lasting, helping elevate standards and pushing the next generation to take pride in their craft.

Beyond his contributions to ACI and the industry, Walt also served our country in the United States Marine Corps. We are deeply grateful for that commitment and the example it set in his work and leadership.

Walt’s leadership extended far beyond his company. He joined the AGC Board of Directors in 2003 and served as President in 2008, guiding the association during a period of major industry transition. Even after his board service, he remained a steady and influential voice - supporting their government affairs work, championing workforce development, and helping strengthen the scholarship committee. His advocacy was instrumental in the growth of the apprenticeship and training efforts, and his belief in developing the next generation has left a meaningful and lasting imprint on the association.

Walt is a pillar of ACI. His influence can be seen in the relationships he built, the projects he led, and the culture he helped shape. His legacy will continue through the many people who learned from him and the standards he set.
