Webinar: New apprenticeship-utilization requirements by municipalities
Webinar: New apprenticeship-utilization requirements by municipalities
Thursday, May 16, 2024 (10:00 AM - 11:00 AM) (PDT)
Description
Last year, the Washington State Legislature passed a bill applying apprenticeship-utilization requirements (15% of labor hours) to contracts awarded by municipalities (cities, counties, ports, PUDs), beginning July 1, 2024, for projects estimated to cost more than $2 million. This dollar threshold is lowered to $1.5 million as of July 1, 2026, and to $1 million on July 1, 2028. Contractors who work for municipalities will want to make sure they understand the requirements which they may not have encountered before. On this May 16, 10:00 a.m. webinar, we are pleased to have L&I staff discuss the requirements and answer questions that contractors may have concerning apprentice-utilization requirements and the Prevailing Wage Intents and Affidavits system.
