Webinar: New municipal requirements for apprenticeship utilization
Webinar: New municipal requirements for apprenticeship utilization
Wednesday, November 6, 2024 (8:30 AM - 10:00 AM) (PST)
Description
In 2023, the Washington State Legislature passed a bill applying apprenticeship-utilization requirements (15% of labor hours) to contracts awarded by municipalities ( such as cities, counties, ports, PUDs).
This legislation went into effect on July 1, 2024, for projects estimated to cost more than $2 million. This dollar threshold will be lowered to $1.5 million on July 1, 2026, and to $1 million on July 1, 2028. Contractors who work for municipalities will want to ensure they understand the requirements that they may not have encountered before.
In this webinar, we are pleased to have L&I staff discuss the requirements and answer questions contractors may have concerning apprentice utilization requirements and the Prevailing Wage Intents and Affidavits system.
