• According to current regulations, a DOSH (Division of Occupational Safety and Health) compliance visit in Washington State allows both employers and employees the right to have a representative present during the inspection, essentially mirroring the federal OSHA policy which grants both parties the opportunity to choose representation during an inspection; this means an employer can have a company representative accompany the inspector, while employees can designate a fellow worker or another authorized individual to represent them during the visit.

• Both employers and employees have the right to have a representative present during a DOSH inspection.
• Purpose of representation:
• The representative can assist the inspector by providing information, clarifying details, and ensuring the inspection is conducted thoroughly.

• Non-employee representative:
• In some cases, an employee may choose a non-employee representative, but this individual must be deemed reasonably necessary for an effective inspection.
